Same-sex spouses are now eligible to apply jointly for a Golden Visa using their international marriage certificate In addition to marriage, same sex couples may also formalise their relationship through a cohabitation agreement, which is legally recognised for immigration purposes.
Both marriage certificates and cohabitation agreements serve as valid documentation for family reunification within the Golden Visa process.

Submission of International Marriage Certificates

Following the legal recognition of same-sex marriage, couples may now submit international marriage certificates issued abroad as part of their Golden Visa application in Greece.

The marriage certificate must be:

Officially recognised in the country where it was issued Apostilled, or legalised through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Greek Consulate, depending on the originating country.
Translated into Greek by an accredited Greek lawyer or registered Greek translator
Upon submission of a valid marriage certificate, same-sex spouses are treated equally to opposite-sex couples for the purposes of the Golden Visa, including family reunification rights and residency permits.
